Question

Fold a flat/ribbon cable

Is there a way to produce a sharp fold in cabling of a flat/ribbon cable?
Currently the cable will make a large radius to make the fold where the
entire folded area does not violate a give bend radius. I'm wondering how
to control that bend radius at this location to make that as sharp as
possible.

Alfonso

Here are some examples of how I have made a ribbon in the past. One is
fully constructed and one uses a sheet metal part as a ribbon cable.
Somewhere during our update the bipmap got lost that was a picture of a
ribbon cable and I had plastered to this part which made it look very
convincing.

Try routing the network along a straight curve, have another curve normal to this offset by the dia. of the wire. I can usually get it close to a flat fold; a little rounding on the angle of the fold though.

Thanks,
