Importing IDX Files

I am using Creo Parametric Release 11.0 and Datecode11.0.4.0 Imported incremental IDX files (sent to Creo from Allegro PCB editor) remove the rounds/fillets around my board and any cutouts that I had previously. We need to accept the change to the board because the board thickness is changed, but this also forces us to accept the removed fillets and cutout. How do we fix this?

It is not clear from your post, are you only in need of changing the thickness of the PCB?  If you are only in need of changing the PCB thickness in Creo parametric then you should be able to modify the Creo part model of the PCB directly to change the thickness and there is no need to use IDX to do this if that is all that has changed. If you must use an intermediate file for a PCB only, then you could export the PCB only from Allegro .emn (this is the IDF file format for a PCB or panel only). Using IDF format the .emn file would define the placed components.

We need to import the entire board (capacitors, resistors, connectors, etc.). The board modification is just one of the many changes that needs to come through. The data exchange shouldn’t be changing the outline of my board other than the thickness.

Within Allegro I think it is possible to review a list of incremental changes that will be exported via IDX interface, have you reviewed that to make sure that the PCB (board) changes are consistent with your design intent? Since it is implied that you made changes to the PCB by deleting fillets/cut-outs that may force a new PCB outline to be generated via the IDX interface.

I believe PTC’s work flow is to open the information in Creo View ECAD to review and accept/reject individual changes, generate a new .idx file from Creo View, and then import the .idx file that contains only the accepted changes into Creo Parametric.
