Insert assembly template

Hello,

Is it possible to create a assembly template, and insert it to our models like this.

https://youtu.be/DxO_QJHvAfs

Look that after selecting the desired template, is inserted like a udf. And the assembly is updated according to the defined inputs.

I had use this in catia, and is a very powerful way, to insert assembly templates to our models. How to do this in creo?

It looks like a lot of random clicking with no explanation.

Is there a description of what is actually going on and what you expect to accomplish?

Unfortunately there is not many videos in you tube with it.

The main idea, is like a udf that at a part level you insert some features. But here, you are able to insert components, and by some inputs, like planes, surfaces, points... Automatically adapts to your design.

Here another video from catia.

Here I found an Explanation of what's intended. In this case from Siemens nx

Not trying to be glib, but it depends on the level of configuration you're trying to define. You mentioned assembly UDFs, which is one way of achieving automation. Other methods include Pro/PROGRAM (most likely in conjunction with Family Tables and Interchange Assemblies) and the Options & Variants module (Configurable Modules and Configurable Products).

TriStar works with a company that provides automation for Creo Parametric. There is another company outside Boston that also provides that. But if you're looking to do it yourself, the essential question is, what are you looking to automate?

Thanks by your help.

I need to insert into my design several similar assemblies. Those assemblies, are very similar between them, only heights, shapes (connected to a 3d surface that is already drawn), and some profiles are diferent between them. The profiles I've drawn in a skeleton part. The shape i've already drawn. So my aim, is to insert the assemblies one by one like an UDF. But there is nothing built in on CREO, that have this possibility? I Know this from CATIA and NX, and, this feature is really powerfull. With a few clicks, I insert several assemblies that are very similar between them.

Like you mentioned, assembly UDFs. They can even contain pre-defined variations.
