Mass Properties of Simplified Reps Automated

So we have a large model with a bunch of sub-assemblies which in turn have sub-assemblies. We are calculating weights based off components from various parts which reside in separate assemblies. Because of this we have created several simplified reps which we want to run mass properties on to obtain the weights. Is there any way, script or otherwise, that we can get the mass properties of all of our simplified reps without having to regenerate our large model 100 times? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

When you retrieve the simp rep, only the models required for the simp rep should be brought into memory.  The entire large model should not need to be regenerated.

You can use a mapkey, with a pause function to choose the simp rep, and then continue to calculate the mass properties.

Opening the master rep will (supposed to) regenerate all the parts of all the assemblies, so that happens only once. After that, selecting different reps will merely add or remove the parts from consideration and should not require any regeneration.

A mass properties report of the top assembly with the master rep will have all the detail you should need, so there needs to be more info about why that is not sufficient.

No - there's almost no automation for tasks in Creo. You can look into JavaLink, WebLink, the VB interface, or Toolkit as methods to build your own automation solution.
