Mass Properties Report Decimal Point

I do not understand the placement of decimal points in the Mass Properties Reports.

Is there a setting someplace that needs corrected?

Example:

I have created a model of a 12" cube with properties of aluminum for this test purpose.

The report I see is erroneous:

VOLUME = 1.7280000e+03 INCH^3

SURFACE AREA = 8.6400000e+02 INCH^2

DENSITY = 9.7543688e-02 POUND / INCH^3

MASS = 1.6855549e+02 POUND

The cube should be:

VOLUME = 1728.0000 INCH^3

SURFACE AREA = 864.0000 INCH^2

DENSITY = 9.7543688e-02 POUND / INCH^3 - I can buy this because there should be no change.

MASS = 168.555 POUND

There is not a setting needed, you just need to ‘read’ the results differently

You will see at the end of the results you have an ‘e’ and a number of digits, e+02 for example, this indicates you should move the decimal place two places to the right, so 8.64 e+02 is 864. and so on.

Thanks for the clarification Charlotte and thanks for the Scientific notation link Jonathan.

Inventor passes this data to the CAD user in a clearer and cumulative form.

I am still learning Pro E, and find it pretty different.
