Mechanism Damping coefficient

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out the damping coefficient value to apply on springs in Creo mechanism. In PTC support I've read about damping coefficient for Simulate "A damping coefficient of 1% means the amplitude decays by about 6% over one period of oscillation". But I'm trying to apply a damper in mechanism, kindly suggest the difference.

Also, in case of CAM joints what is criteria for adding the liftoff and friction values? Kindly suggest if it's a measured value or we can take an approximation for general study.
