Multiple Instances of Image

I have an image with cross sections of model.  When I add the image to all of the cross section planes, I am maxing out RAM which slows everything down.  CREO appears to treat each instance as a new file.  Is there a way to get CREO to treat multiple instances as one image or only load the image only when shown?
