regeneration of parts &assembly is slow in creo 3.0

i just want to know whether the regenaration in creo 3.0 is very slow or even the system get stuck while do regenaration,intially i thought it was for complex assy but even for the part it is very slow.

 

is it happening for all???

In my experience you either have a very large assembly and yu have run out of available RAM so you are swaping to you disc drive.  Or you have a bunch of external references which requires the regeneration of the component from the feature you are referencing to the end of that part for every part that is being externally referenced.

When created without external references assemblies should only take a few second to regenerate.
