Summary - Sketched Axis of Revolution

Well, considering that creating a sketcher axis and immediately RMB'ing
and selecting 'Axis of Revolution' (while still in the axis tool)
doesn't seem to work, I'd say the flyout. 😛 I'm always having to go
back into the sketch because I thought I had selected it, but hadn't.



If you create the axis, exit the axis tool, select the axis again and
then RMB and select 'Axis of Revolution', it seems to work fine.
Picking the right axis in the first place seems easier, and seems
logical.

That's odd, because what you describe as "doesn't seem to work" is exactly what I do and works fine for me which is why I asked the questions. When I first go in the sketcher I right click and select centerline; then I create a centerline; when I'm done the centerline automatically stays highlighted so I right click again and select axis of revolution. But I'm on WF5, M090, so maybe M140 acts differently.

Maybe it was user error on my part, I certainly thought I had hit the
'axis of revolution' command. If it worked, that'd be convenient.

Remember, there are two types of centerline in sketcher. If you use the Geometry Centerline, no extra clicking is required. It is automatically the axis of revolution.

I tried it again with the same results. I had to go back and tag it
again, RMB while the axis is still highlighted immediately after
creation doesn't work for me.

I agree Dave. I have only had to assign the axis of revolution a
handful of times in 15+ years. If you create only ONE geometry
centerline, Pro (WF3 and previous) assumes it is the axis of revolution.
If you create more than one geometry centerline, it assumes the first
one you created is the axis of revolution. This is the only situation
where I have actually had to reassign the axis. (when it was actually
the second instance that was the axis of revolution).
