Surface of extrude different than background
Is there a way, in CREO 10, to get the surface of an extrude to look different than the background surface?
The first picture is what I was trying to achieve -- a plaque (i.e. an ornamental tablet, typically of metal, porcelain, or wood, that is fixed to a wall or other surface in commemoration of a person or event).
The second picture shows how it looks in CREO, using NO HIDDEN -- anything else (like SHADING WITH EDGES) transforms it into something horrible, that cannot be understood (my colors in CREO have always been awful, never managed to get those nice pastel colors that other people show on YouTube).
The third picture shows how it should look even in CREO -- I used colors to make a point, but what I had in mind was at least a GRAINY surface, different from the background surface of the respective plaque, just to make sense to someone who is trying to figure out what they are looking at (no need to look artistically pleasant, but to be at least intelligible).
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!
Also, it would help if the surface of the extrude would NOT be so FLAT -- some way to make at least the nose stand out a bit and give it a 3D aspect, that part would really be quite something!!
I know there is FREE STYLE in CREO, but I am not there yet, and as such, I am looking for an easy way out (which may not exist in this instance).
