Question
translating an assembly to a part...
I have an assembly that I wish to basically convert into a part. This is essentially a "purchased" part, "black box" to me. In the past, for smaller, simplerassemblies, I would simply merge allthe parts of the assembly, then step that out and back into a part. In this case, the assembly is complex, and merging parts has proved difficult if not impossible (the usual problem with accuracies and overlapping geometry...). I thought in the past I was able to translate out to a single part, but cannot remember the method.
