Save all files used as references

Hello everyone,

I have a manual made in DocBook 4.0 which consists in a root file with 10 files references (the chapters) each of which has 10 references (the sections). Total = 100 xml files.

The files have the characters saved as numeric references, and I need them as characters, which I can do by opening file by file and saving them with the right setting ("save as characters") in preferences, but...

Is there a way to save ALL 100 files in one go, without having to open them one by one?
