thanks to all who replied! The basic consensus was that there is no harm in using INSERT more frequently than ALIGN, and even some definite benefits as some of you posted to the exploder. All replies are copied below... thanks!
You have to choose thru all (which is one sided). So it's kind of buried and deceptive. Then after you choose thru all go into the options tabAnd choose thru all for both directions.Hope this helpsMike

Thanks for all the responses. By using a couple of new icons (and maybe and a few new mapkeys), WF has the same functionality as 2001. Here's my original question and all responses:
Hi Everyone,I really need some help here. I've been contemplating buying a laptop towork on ProE.And as it turns out I am absolutely confused. I have brought it down tothree options keeping usability ruggedness and serviceability in mind.1) Toshiba Satellite M50 or Tecra S2 (http://www.hclnotebooks.com/product.htm#<http: www.hclnotebooks.com=" product.htm="> )2) IBM T43 or T42 (http://www-604.ibm.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=-356&productId=33068044&storeId=10000356&langId=356&dualCurrId=1000105&categoryId=2060442<http: www-604.ibm.com=" webapp=" wcs=" stores=" servlet=" productdisplay?catalogid="-<br"/>356&productId=33068044&storeId=10000356&langId=356&dualCurrId=1000105&categoryId=2060442> )3) HP 8230 (http://h50025.www5.hp.com/hpcom/in_en/11_28_366_3957_PY746PA.html )Any suggestions or advice would be a big big help to me !Thanks.Aditya

How do I control the layers of a component during the placement process??
I'm guessing that Marty is doing software QC for PTC. Why do I say so? Because of the number of times a requester/menu pops up a long distanceacross the screen from where the pointer was when I clicked the mousebutton. Mr. Feldman could have kept up with most of it, but I'm adon't liketo. I know that this occurs sometimes to prevent blocking the next pick,although... The best example today is Edit/References/Replace Ref. The Edit menu is upper left. The References selection is mid to lower left. The menu that appears is in the Upper Right, but the question it stops toask is in the screen lower left. The box to click Yes/No is at the lower right. All corners covered. All that's missing is a decent pop-under modal requester (1 pixel X 1 pixel, please ) and it would be complete. A chameleon could not watch all this at the same time, so I guess that thesoftware QC guys are more flexible than them - obviously more flexible thanme. I know, I know - create a mapkey to skip the whole thing.
Who has an involute gear as a UDF that follows the standard ANSI spline geometry. Found the http://www.ptc.com/cs/cs_25/howto/agf652/agf652.htm. But I never could get a UDF to work for inside or outside gear teeth.
