I need to join two plates at a right angle to each other using a bevel weld reinforced by a fillet weld. The bevel weld is only located in the middle of the join and does not extend the full length of the joint surface. I can create the bevel weld, but I cannot create the fillet weld on top of it (see image A). If the bevel weld extends the full length of the joint surface, then it is possible to create a fillet weld on top of it and combine the two welds (see image B). What needs to be done to create a fillet weld on top of a bevel weld with defined end points (limited length)?
Can we able to defined the length of cable in creo schematic?
hey, I am trying to automate the creo parametric through running parallel application using asynchronous mode. which toolkit should I use and what is difference between these toolkit and have any example available for asynchronous mode.
I have an issue on a workstation running Windows 7 SP1 with Creo 6.0.1.0 installed. We have multiple workstations with Creo 6.0.1.0 running on W7 SP1 but only one has this problem. When second, and subsequent, model windows are opened the program refuses to settle on one window and allow me to interact with the model. What I mean is that when the new model window opens, any mouse click results in Creo switching back to the base window. However any mouse click here then sends me to the second model, and so I then get stuck in this loop. Enough mouse clicks and enough luck and it eventually settles on one model and I can activate the window and begin work. The problem only appears to affect Creo and only on this workstation. Has anybody encountered anything like this before? I considered a stuck windows key or tab key on the keyboard, but as I said, the issue only seems to affect Creo. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Whenever I start Creo 4.0, this error message pops up. I reinstalled Creo several times, and it doesn't go away. I have the student version.
I can add the link without issue. When I try to access the url (excel) sheet, I get two warning messages saying that Excel cannot find the file, then it opens it in read only mode.
When I am trying to open Solidworks model in CREO 6.0.4 , CREO gets hanged and model does not open. Ideally it should trigger swtopro.exe file when trying to open solidworks model and model should get opened . But I am not sure why it is not triggering. Can someone please help me on this ?

Hello, I want to edit the new file opening layout in Creo. How can I do that? What are the additional software needed. The screen I want to edit looks like the following...
From Windchill in Chrome browser its possible to start Creo using "Actions>Open in Creo" from the CAD document details page, this downloads a .pha file which can be opened in Creo. This starts Creo in whatever location the file was downloaded and if I try and open something else it starts another Creo session. So to minimise confusion for my teams who may try and click this button I need to either make it work properly, so it opens Creo in the run directory we normally use, or stop it form working all together, does anyone have any thoughts on this, I was going to try and remove the file type association between .pha and Creo?
Hi everyone, Would appreciate if anyone can shed some light on this. I'm new to Creo 5.0. Trying to make a section cut in my part itself (Not drawing). 1.View-> Section -> Offset Section 2. I then select my sketch 3. And things work fine so long as my sketch consists of straight lines. If my sketch is an open semi-circle for example then Creo refuses to do the cut. Am I missing something? Thank You Sandy
Hey I am able to build the asynchronous example which is present in <common files>\otk\otk_cpp\otk_async_examples but still did not able to understand how I run this with Creo, what i tried is : 1). set env variable PRO_COMM_MSG_EXE to my (otk_install.exe) exe file 2) Try to Set .dat file in Auxiliary Applications but still not able to run

Hi all, I am doing a large number of installation drawings for a large assembly. I want to be able to show reference components in the installation drawings to show how the components are assembled together. My problem is I cannot have reference components saved in the assembly as they will duplicate in the top level model assembly. I can bring components into an assembly model then into a drawing and save the outline as draft entities so that I can then delete reference model from assembly before saving. However when you do this the reference model is no longer there to hide lines behind it so you end up with hidden lines shown which i don't want. Apologies for the long explanation but can anyone help? Thanks Dave.
My company has recently updated to CREO Schematics 4 and the functionality of changing cable decorations is not working. When trying to change the cable decoration an error message appears. Has anyone else experienced this error or issue?
Hi! I'd like to move the Common Files folder from the directory, where Creo is installed. We need it to be shared, because there's a lot of settings in there. I tried a lot of things, but I didn't succeed. Is there a way to specify the path to the Common Files folder to use instead of the original? Thanks, Bence Salamon
One of the designers did a sheetmetal design with 4 distinct pieces so it is in a part file, not an assembly file as we usually do for a weldment. This leads to a number of questions. 1) How do you show each distinct piece in a drawing? 2) Can these pieces be saved off as individual part files and then rebuilt in an assembly? 3) Is it possible to show a BOM on the drawing of the part file so we can list sizes, etc? The last question is more general in nature, when did distinct features get added to the sheetmetal package? My last training with sheetmetal was back at WIldfire 2 days. Online documentation is very weak (almost non-existent) on distinct features and how they work.

Hello As we know, drawing name is stored in dwg_name system parameter, but this parameter through toolkit is not accessible. How to get value of dwg_name using toolkit?
When a view is converted to draft group, the line entities do not maintain the colors they had before the conversion. Is there a config option or way during the conversion process so they maintain the line colors.
My company is currently giving some thought to how we handle standards. There are two main aspects, industry standards and company standards. We are interested in what other companies are doing and any lessons learned to help us determine what the options are, and which option is best. Below are some specific questions we have but if you have thoughts beyond these questions please share. How does your company handle or provide access to industry standards? For example the ASME standards. Do you use a service to provide company wide access? Are individuals responsible for obtaining their own copy? Some other option or combination of A and B? Does your company use industry standards exclusively? Does your company use company developed standards exclusively? Does your company use a combination of industry and company developed standards? If your company has their own standards do they supplement or replace industry standards? If your company has the
Hello all, I am using Excel for pattern definiton, this can be achived with the config option "part_table_editor excel", which is amazing. This is really handy, because I receive information about connector locations via the Excel format. I can specify angles and other dimensions. For hole definition I plan to use the save sketch function. This way I can make sure that all the holes used for particular purpose are the same. Single source definition you could call it. This way I deny the possibilites of mistakes that one hole is a bit different then the other. We use PTC Creo parametric 4.0 and Windchill. Now I was wondering, where are the Excel files and sketch files stored? Are they stored with the part? Meaning that if I release the part in windchill, the excel file and sketch file are also locked? Kind regards
