Creo+ and Creo Parametric

I have done simple stress simulation to check the max displacement of parts' blend amount from Y axis   It is shown the max_disp Y value is 37.69mm, but I see from the animate picture, the movement of parts is less than 3 mm. I had set the DISPLAY OPTION Scaling to 1 What does it mean of Max Displacement_Y value??   Thanks

Hi,   at first, I know that Win10-Home is not supported by Creo (see Creo4 hardware notes), but somtimes ist works on Win10-Home without any problems. Mostly "Creo Agent could not be registered" or somethig like that occurs. Nearly every student has an own laptop but in 99% with Win10-Home as OS. Are there any hints or tricks to get Creo work on Win10-Home? I don't understand that PTC gives the software to students for free but the OS the students normaly use is not supported...   Thanks for comments and tips

Creo Parameteric 3, build 190Lets say I have a simple extrude feature, extruded up to a plane. How can I have it end at a different reference (plane, point, etc), based on the value of a part parameter?Something like: IF myParam = "Short"    <reference> = dtm_plane_shortELSE       <reference> = dtm_plane_long ENDIF I seem to recall being able to this way back in the day with Pro/E, but its been ages.

I have this Issue when modeling parts and creating drawings:   I try to select a line or surface that is visible in my current view and Creo defaults to try and select a hidden line or surface. 99% of the time I want to select what I can see.   How do I stop it from doing this?    If it matters my Display Style is usually on Shading with Edges.

I have used the &p## for getting the quantity of holes in a pattern for dimensioning a drawing.   Now I would like to use that same thing, but the holes are in a part of a subcomponent. I tried using &p##:XX (what I see when switching dimensions) The &p## is the pattern quantity and the :XX is referring to the subcomponent ID. When I do this, the "&" is dropped and is just shows P##:XX in the drawing.    

Hello,   I want to have a clear structure in my working area of CREO. Therefore I am working with folders where each part or construction group is sorted. For an assembly the single parts are sometimes in folders because of the overview and the structure.    When I am loading an assembly it shows me missing parts. The path of those parts didn´t change. Do I have to save every part of an assembly in the path of the assembly (and loose my structure) or is there a different way?   thanks in advance.

Hello,   I worked on a model in Creo 6 and while adjusting the model in one step the info in the lower left corner "Warning: Some condition relationships are no longer fulfilled in the model_ABC."    I am not sure when this message appeared so I would like to see which conditions are not fulfilled so that I can adjust them. How can I see the unfulfilled condition relationships?   thanks in advance.

How do I do unit tolerance in Creo 6.0?

Hello everybody,   I was wondering if there is a way to combine/merge three curves made with equations into one curve.   As you can see in the attached files, the curves form a spring. If zoomed in, little differences between the curves can be seen.   I'm looking for a way to eliminate these gaps and get one whole curve out of three.   Thank you for your time and with best regards.

Hello, Another obscure Creo issue that I will try and describe.  I just attempted checkin of a new drawing.  The assembly was checked in by itself already.  Upon checkin of the drawing, a new part having nothing to do with the drawing is being checked in.  This same part did not "want" to be checked in with the assembly, only the drawing.  Where is this link taking place and how do I break this link?  Thank you.

We have a parametric table that pulls the items and qtys in an Assembly and lists them in a table, pulling other parameters to be displayed (such as part number, description, special assembly instructions, ect...), but this only works in a .drw.  Is there a way to insert this table, or make a new one that can be used with Annotations in Combined states?

So 2 have two models in 2 different modes: syn and asyn   model = pfcSession.GetCurrentSession().GetCurrentModel(); connection = pfcAsyncConnection.AsyncConnection_Connect(null, null, null, 20); model = connection.GetSession().GetCurrentModel();   I have checked and both models are valid and I have no issue casting the TableOwner tableowner from the two models. However, I cannot get a list of tables with async mode   TableOwner tableOwner = (TableOwner)model; if(tableOwner!=null) { tableOwner.ListTables().getarraysize(); }   tableOwner is not null but ListTables() actually returns null error. I am not sure if I do not cast it properly or I need something special to make it work.    

I'm really surprised how "under the radar" the (new?) CTQ toggle for Annotations is. What I'd like to see is the ability to define a Symbol that is applied or added to the annotation on face of drawing when CTQ is set to true (checked). In a really perfect world the symbol could have an indexing capability so you could cross reference a given Special Characteristic ina separate document such as control plan (and yes, I've seen the power of transfering CTQ data from Creo to Windchill Part to the (formerly Relex) Control Plan).   It's all really powerful stuff, especially the transfer of values... It eliminates potential transposition errors and minimizes the potential for out-of-dateness errors. It seems such a shame to be adding disconneted symbols (and the potential for error) manually.   In summary - Idea is to add automated Special Characteristic Symbols (for Drawings) to the CTQ functionality in Annotations

Hello,   I am just working on a internal company projects where we have a sheet metal body with ventilation slots. Those slots I made with the "filling"-function. The lower left rectangle is the base which was filled over an area which I sketched, let´s say a filling frame.   Now I wanted to insert an area in the middle of those ventilations slots where I can laser the companys logo into but I am not sure, when I use this model, if the process is done correctly...see attached - I can still see the slots lined up and able to choose but the insert rectangle has the same thickness like the sheet metal around it...   Is there any solution which is suitable for this case?! Or do I have to make 4 filling areas (1upper, 1 lower, 1left and 1right of the inner rectangular)? - I hope not...   Thanks in advance.

Hello community, I have a question about simulation capabilities. We are machining in a very thin layer of material (0.5 to 1mm thickness) a comb structure, often below the neutral axis of the part. Once we finish the machining, we see a warpage of the parts, mostly linked with the residual machining stress. We are trying to solve the problem empirically, but I'd like to have some theoretic approach and prepare a simulation model for future application. In order to do that, I'd like to know if it is possible with Creo Simulate to do this kind of simulation and have an estimation of the residual stress and estimate the warpage of the parts? Hi,   I've created a sheetmetal-part and added a planar and flat part. Then I mirrored the flat part on the middle plane. The result is, that the other side doesn't look mirrored.   .prt-file is attatched I haven't used sheetmetal very often. So maybe I am missing something ?   Thanks, Maik

One function of Solidworks that I find very helpful is the ability to add "comments" to dimension text in the sketcher. Like you see in this link: https://forum.solidworks.com/thread/231992   So I'd like to be able to do something like what you see in the picture attached. Is this possible?      

Hi,I had to create a thread on shaft so I used Cosmetic Thread feature. Next I've created a drawing with 2 views: first view shows a shaft in top position and the other in non-top position (let's say right side of shaft). View with top position is correct - thread symbol (cutted circle) was created correctly. But view with non-top position does not contain thread lines... Just looks like usual view without any thread. Does anybody know how to fix it in Creo Parametric 6.0?Thanks in advance for all answers!

We are using Creo 4.0 M100 to design die casting dies using the mold splitting tools in the Tool Design option.  Since moving to Creo 4.0 a few years ago, we are having problems with mold volumes switching after modifying a parting-surface; cavity half insert geometry switches to the ejector side and visa versa.  This wreaks havoc on the extracted mold components and the rest of the mold design.  This is especially painful when doing revisions to an existing mold design.   We are using the "volume split" tool along with parting-surfaces to create the volumes.  It's almost like Creo reassigns the geometry do different sides of the parting surface at random.   I find several occurrences of this issue in the knowledge base.  Each occurrence says resolved in an earlier version than what we are currently running.   Has anyone else had this issue?  If so, how have you dealt with it?  Is there a better / more robust technic for splitting

Hi - I need to place a square button inside a square hole, and am using the slide mechanism so I can limit the resting and depressed positions.  But being a button, I need to allow for a small clearance gap on all four sides.  When I select the hole and button corner edges for the axis alignment, it fixes as a coincident constraint and doesn't let me set offsets.    How do I get round this so I can limit the distance the button can be depressed but also specify a clearance gap on all four sides?   Can I create a datum axis in mid air on the hole piece which I can align the button with?  I have read another post where someone mentioned using a planar joint instead - I have tried this for a while but cannot make it work; when I set as i think it should be, the piece can be dragged all over the place!   Thanks

Hi,I'm working with Creo Parametric 6.0 and I'm making drawing of simple part. When I've done this drawing I've created a copy of this origin drawing (File->Save As->Save a Copy). Then I made some changes inside the copy (mainly deleting some dimenssions) and i I saved it. When I opened the origin drawing I realized that dimenssions which I remove in copy have been also removed in origin drawing. It looks like the changes made in copy influence on origin file. Is there some way to turn off this influence?Thank you in advance for all answers!
