Creo+ and Creo Parametric

Hi All,  I have doubt for Interface Force calculation at Contact Area in Creo Simulate. 1. What is the Unit of  Interface Force & Interface Area (for mmNs) ? 2.  Larger the Contact Area, Smaller the force. 3. If I divided the contact area into specific contact area zone (Using Volume region), Interface force is increasing, why ? 4. What is difference between Component force & Surface to Surface force ?   Can anyone help me to understand above point. After solving one CREO Simulation it look Like got very high interface force practically which is impossible.    

Does anyone know how, or if it's possible, to extract the shrinkage value from a part, as a parameter?  This has to be stored as a system parameter value somewhere in the model.  I'd like to be able to show the general shrinkage value on our prints.   Thanks, Rob

Hello, I'm completely new here. And also new with Creo Parametric.  I've been drawing a part but started with the sketch. The idea was to draw the sketch and extrude it to the thickness i need it. Once i got the part, it needs some bending on the Z axes. Not sure how to do that as well. The first problem is that somehow i guess i made a mistake so i can't get the sketch into the extrude area. Excuse me, but I can't upload the .sec file it looks like... Can anyone help please? Thank you in advance!!   Kind Regards, JB50

Hello to all,  how can I project a datum point onto a non planar surface? I tried to use datum point command but only allows project onto plane or planar surface. If it is not possible, it there any workaround to accomplish it? BTW, I´m using Creo 4.0. Thanks.

Hi. I'm trying to figure out how to auto generate files names while using a mapkey to save a copy as a JPEG.   My goal is to hit the mapkey and a high-resolution JPEG saves to my desktop. I would need to save multiple JPEGs of a single part file.   The issue I'm running into is when it overrides the file, because it uses the same file name as the previously saved JPEG.   Hopefully that makes sense. Hello everyone,   I'm designing a car and would like to calculate drag with flow analysis.  Is this possible? Are there any video tutorials I can follow?     

I have a part with a hole through the center.  I applied draft to the part and split the draft at a hinge part-way through the surface.  Different draft is applied to either side of the draft hinge.  When detailing on a drawing, I have a cross section through the "front" plane within the part.  When I use the Annotation > Show Model Annotations to display the dimensions of the draft feature, the dimensions are shown at the center of my view, seemingly fixed to an orthogonal plane to my section.  If I make a different cross section through this "side" plane and move the dimensions to this view, they display differently.  See attached file for screenshots.   Has anyone also experienced this behavior?  Any idea why the dimension displays differently on the two different sections?   I'm running Creo 5.0.5.0   Thanks, -John

What is the trick to add multiple jogs on a ordinate dimension. I can add one, whenever I try to add a second jog the second jog starts at the vertex of the first jog and not where I pick on the line. I am on Creo 4

Hello,   I am trying to install Creo Illustrate taking the steps suggested as in the shipment info. I downloaded the PTC Web Installation Assisstant but it gets stuck when installing the license server (see screenshot). The license file includes SERVER and DAEMON as in the following (I replaced the real HOSTID through **, the HOSTID in the license file is correct):   SERVER __HOSTNAME__ PTC_HOSTID=**-**-**-**-** ****DAEMON ptc_d __PTCD_PATH__   Do you have any idea what I can do to solve this?      

Hi, I’m struggling with my dimension scheme with a fillet weld. How can I change de DXD parameter to the A parameter of a weld. Can someone please help me asap?  thanks in advance.

I can create an idea for this if it isn't already possible. I don't do a lot of cabling so maybe it is.   Is it possible to do an analysis to figure out where in your harness your bend radii are the tightest? I tried changing my bend radii and the cable fails but there is no way for me to easily see where in the cable it is failing.   Ideally there would be a color plot showing the cable curve and color varying with the tightness of the bend.

It appears after having set up the config file for the parameter dialog it does not sort the name column descending.  The XML does contain the lines: <sortby>      <column name="name" order="Descend"/></sortby> The other settings function as expected.  Something missing?  Expectations too high?

Hello, I have a question about mapkeys. Is there any possibility to see what exactly does a mapkey do? I work with mapkeys, which have been created by either CAD engineers or former collegues and I would like to understand exact procedure of the mapkeys (in general). The simplier ones can be understood from the config file but not the more complicated ones. I hope I made the question understandable, thanks for any answer.  

Hi,   I've got a question: Last week a lot of lines changed their color from black to blue in drawing-mode:     The balloons are blue, the arrows of the ballons are blue, the lines of all tables are blue (including the tables in the drawing-template)     I didn't make any changes to the drawing-template. I noticed that on creo-startup there is an error in the start-routine, but I don't know if there is any correlation between the error and the blue lines:   The system can't find the path specified But it doesn't really say, what path cannot be found.   Maybe someone has an idea of whats wrong here ?   Thanks, Maik  

Hello. I'm trying to use an image as a reference for modelling, but when I add it to the scene it only show a white rectangle or a white rectangle with black artifact.I'm using Creo Parametric 7.0 with a student license.

In WF4 Mechanica, is there a method to insert a displacement instead of aload force of PSI? I know a surface on a beam has to move .065", but Idon't know the force required to make it move that far. All,   Looking for input on how to make a flat feature as a udf. Accomplished (pictures) in solid and shelled but would like a UDF to use within piping.   Is this type feature capable of being a UDF in piping?

My text vertical alignment is always set to "TOP" and greyed out.  This is in models and drawings.  Anyone know how to un-grey?

My problem is, there doesn't seem to be a way to insert the callout_format into the hole table, the callout format creates a note when enabled, but it would be much better for my needs if it created a parameter (which I can link to in the hole table) with the note in it self, or at least it would create a parameters which simply links to the note where the callout format is.    

Hi all,   I have a huge assembly file, and would like to assemble a bolt to many locations in model.  I set up a skeleton with a shrinkwrap of a query in top model for all "coordinates" that are named HARDWARE_COORD*.  Is there a way to auto assemble all the components to each and every coordinate?  I would assume it can be done with programming , but I am not sure.  I cant use a point pattern because there are many in different orientations.  I can go through and do a repeat, but this is time consuming.  

Anyone find a way to change the top main menu bar in Creo 6 from black back to grey.  Killer on the eyes!     Thanks, Dan

Hi to all,   This is my first post, I have searched this topic anywhere but it seems to be unexplored.   I have encountered some problems to import a jpeg file into a part. My colleagues make it work without problems, despite we are using the same Creo date code (6.0.3.0) and the same 'config' file.   I am trying to import this picture into a part to draw over it     by 'model display/images/import'.     This is what I should obtain - is a screenshot from my coworker PC.   This is what I obtain on my workstation: the image is shrunk, deformed and multiplied as if it was a sort of wallpaper.   I obtain this result with jpeg, png, tiff images, with every kind of picture. My colleagues, on the contrary, make it work with every kind (and size) of picture.   I have the same problem even I try to apply images as appearances. It seems to be an importation problem.   Our settings seem to be the same... what can I try?     &nbs

We have been using freeform a lot recently to design toys. As we move into the production tooling phase we need to split the bodies into two or more parts. There are a few issues with this process:   These toys are character sculpts that have to go through different approval phases. As we get to production approval we need to tighten up the final surfaces. No body wants a wild parting line so we try to tweak the surfaces in freestyle to smooth out the partling line - it would be VERY useful to have a live draft analaysis happening while we do these tweaks so we can see the effects of the edit on the parting line.   Better yet, would be to have a feature that ThinkDesign has had since around 2001 (regardless of your thoughts on the Think3 product - and I have plenty negative ones, having been a user - this was a killer feature for many).
