How to remove Intralink parameters in Creo models

Sometimes you need to clean up CAD data before sharing it with a third party or you would like to update Start parts templates and remove old PDM parameters.

You need to Set config.pro options:

dm_emulate_ilink_sys_parameters=yes

allow_create_pdm_param=yes

This is great! I can update our company start part/assembly, but why do I have to be offline?  I need to be able to checkout the start files from our Windchill, remove the dead intralink parameters and then check back in.

*edit*  Nevermind, I made the changes offline, then reapplied the server and added them to the workspace they were checked out in to check-in the modified versions.

Hi, thanks for your note.

If I need to update start files that are stored in Windchill, I use the process that I download files to local hard drive and then I remove parameters.

After update start files - I will update data in Windchill.

Your process of using Offline mode is also good ðŸ˜‰

Thanks again and have a nice day.

We have Creo10.

I can't find both options in the configuration editor:

  • :dm_emulate_ilink_sys_parameters=yes
  • allow_create_pdm_param=yes

Are those hidden in Creo10?

Yes they are hidden. Put them into your config.pro and then launch Creo and you should be able to modify the parameters

When I try to add these options, I can't click on OK (it's not activated/still grey)2026-02-11 13_03_40-Creo Parametric Options.jpg

Close Creo, add them to your local config.pro and then restart.

They are now in the config.pro but I still can't remove the Intralink parameters (they are still locked).2026-02-11 13_41_38-Parameters.jpg2026-02-11 13_39_00-Creo Parametric.jpg2026-02-11 13_38_40-Creo Parametric.jpg

You have to get out of a linked session.

File -> Manage Session -> Server Management -> NO SERVER

Then try

Its been a while since I have done this. Try backing it up to a local (ie C: ) drive; verify that you are not in a linked session and then open it from the local drive and see if you can make the change. If that doesn't work try all of these steps:
