Hi. My internet contract expired and I decided not to renew it at this time. So I don't currently have internet access and I thought, it would be a good time to do a bit more learning on the sorftware. Unfortunately I can't even use it when I try to open it up. It's asking for a code which it never did before since I had the internet and then just closes. So this means I can no longer use it at home now. Where can I get this code from since I have this installed on my laptop and one desktop computer, but can't use either apparently. I would just like to keep working on the tutorials in the meantime. This is for the free download version that I'm referring to. The laptop is Win XP pro and the desktop is Win 7 pro. Thanks. This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. Just for comparison, for our Wildfire 5/Creo Elements Pro 5 install, I use the following without issues on Windows 7 (64-bit) and Windows XP (32-bit). SET PTC_WF_ROOT=%APPDATA%\PTC\ProENGINEER\%WFROOT%\.wf\.SET PTC_WF_CACHE=%USERPROFILE%\ptc\Windchill Yes, no quotes, even though our user names have spaces in them, which means the path that comes from "%USERPROFILE% has spaces in it. (WFROOT is a variable I set myself ahead of time. I don't want conflicts between ProE versions so I rename the default folder per version.) There is now a new Creo Elements/Direct Application for the creation of Aluminium Extrusion Dies, "ExtrusionPower". Due to the strong blending capabilities of Creo Elements/Direct V18, the product works fast and powerful. Another super simple question. What is the best way to create a workplane at the midpoint of this solid. I can create a plane on a face easy, but if I try and reposition the plane it won't snap to the midpoint of an edge. I tried to create a plane by point and dir but again it won't find the midpoint. Good Morning all, Is anyone using the new Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1? We are piloting its use and are having issues with it allowing the xtop.exe process to run properly. All of the normal exceptions have been created and actually we have ruled out the firewall as a cause. (Installed without the firewall) The problemseems to be in the "download protection component". (According to Symantec Support) Unfortunately it's not simply a matter of disabling this component, it seems like there is an inherent conflict between Pro/E and having the download protection installed at all. Weexecute the startup bat filefrom a perl script wrapper. The proe.exe process runs for several minutes, then the xtop.exe processfinally shows up. If you let it run, Creo Elements/Pro will partially start in maybe 50 minutes. Has anyone else encountered anything like this before? Thanks, -Tom Feldmann The Toro Company Creo Elements/Pro 5.0

Can any one tell me why ProE WF 4 drawings do not show up on Product View Express? Also I have Creo elements/View Expres and can not open drawings or models made in WF 4 or earlier, can tell me what I am doing wrong? Any help is greatly appreciated since PTC refuses to answer my questions on this. This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. I'm not a PTC/Creo power user by any means. Just a solo guy in NY running on a poor-man's budget, and working with some PTC Creo (PreE) pros doing a mechanical design. I desperately need to see their designs and catch further mistakes (there have been many in the past). So they recommended creo elements view express, which I just downloaded (rev 10.0 F000 build 93). However, it constantly crashes when I try to open most files (it does open a few, but very few). Any ideas on what's going on? This is on a Win7 x32 laptop. Tried doing "Repair" install just to make sure nothing was corrupt. Is there a different freeware tool to be using? Thanks much for any assistance. AndyThis thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. 'vport1' frozen due to Graphics Error! Was läuft falsch und was kann ich tun? Wenn möglich bitte die Antwort auf Deutsch. Mein Englisch ist Sch... (nicht so gut). Ich würde mich über eine hilfreiche Antwort sehr freuen. Hello! In last free version Creo Elements-View Express v10.0 F000 there is an option for reading of files at a format ".iso" - format Arbortext IsoDraw. And at me, in this connection, the following question: it turns out, what the user does not need to buy/install separately Arbortext IsoView for viewing of technical illustrations in a format ".iso" any more (the plug-in for viewing already enters in distribute Creo Elements-View Express)? Or, all the same is, any distinctions? This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. Getting involved with Creo Elements Personal Edition I encountered different problems. First of all, I am used to input my designs with SolidWorks though, I don't like it so much. First of all, I viewed the webcasts for introduction. Then I tried to do the same design using Creo Elements. In the attachment you see the SolidWorks result. 1. I drawed a 5-corner plane. How do I tell the software to do the end of the last line to the beginning of the first one? How do I set the relations of lines (vertical, horizontal, length)? 2. Finally I did not find out, I placed a rectangle, and etruded it to 5mm. Then I placed a chamfer to the bottom right corner. Then I modified the chamfer. Pressing the space bar to alter the way of changing did not work! (shown in webinar) 3. tried to place the holes. They should be positioned on a bisecting line. I could not place a line like this. Also, how do I place circles, centered on this bisecting line? Thank you for help
Would it maybe be possible and interesting to open creo elements/direct personal edition files into creo elements/view express? I know everyone can open the files with his/her own copy but what about ppl not really used to these programs, The view express program might be a nice use for it. Now I got to this idea because I was trying to get a wide angle perspective shot of my model and was not really able to(at least not close by)This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. If you are a long–time user of Creo Elements/Direct Drafting, you probably already work with dimensions every day. But did you know Creo Elements/Direct Drafting Version 17.0 brings extensive enhancements to dimensioning? For example, you can now place dimensions on more geometry types than before.
