We are about to buy a 5x machine tool and therefore looking for a simulation solution. We have a light version of VERICUT that we should upgrade to full multiaxis solution. Other option is going to NCSIMUL, with some very good capabilities.Before Pro/NC had the machine simulation option, i looked into the technique of creating separate NC files to drive mechanism connections. Does WF5 machine simulation work that way? It guess it is a time consuming and error prone technique.Another solution we are looking at is Siemens NX cam solution. We are a bit disappointed of the lack of development of PTC NC solutions. We are succesfully running mill 3x, lathe and wire edm machines with Pro/NC but we think we should get another cam solution for multiaxis jobs.Both NCSIMUL and Siemens can simulate multiaxis jobs, also they can simulate post processed files.What do you think? Is anybody running Pro/NC and machine simulation? Anybody using VERICUT or NCSIMUL for multiaxis? Do you simulate NC files

We recently purchased a Haas VF-2 that will not run on the same post as our older Haas machines. It does not like redundant moves or having a X or Y move within a G02/G03 line that also has an I,J move. The machine will get "Alarm 982- zero angle move" with our current post.I do not see a way to eliminate the xy moves in circular motions anywhere in the NC Post Processor. I can manually edit the post to remove all x,y moves in any line that contains an I,J move and the machine runs fine. If anyone knows a way to edit this in the advanced section or something I should check or uncheck it would be greatly appreciated. Hi, I am drilling the OD of a cylinder. I have a Daewoo Puma Mill-Turn, Fanuc 16T. It is an X,Z,C type setup. My workcell is setup correctly, we've been using this for 7 yrs. The tool axis for these holes is PARLEL X. We are currently using G-post utilizing merged posts, PARLEL X(UNCX01.F02), PARLEL Z(UNCLX01.F12), and a regular turning post(UNCL01.F02). My question: Pro-e is outputting a RAPID, GOTO/, a CYCLE/DRILL, GOTO/ again and then a CYCLE/OFF for the 1st hole in the ACL file. The susequent holes are output as RAPID, GOTO/, RAPID/, GOTO/, CYCLE/DRILL, GOTO/, CYCLE/OFF. Seems to be an extra RAPID/ and GOTO/ for holes 2-8. I currently have 8 holes programmed. The extra RAPID/ and GOTO/ cause the Retract Cyclinder dimensions to be re-output. This may be causing my issue.? I've been in the OFG, can't find any settings to change this output. I tried changing the setting on the "Identical Points handling" page under "Motion" -> "General". This did not change ouput. I've been to the

I often have to apply pressure loads to fairly complicated internalpassages where it is relatively easy to "miss" some of the surfaces.Typically, I will turn off the simulation display and go into wireframeto try and confirm that I haven't missed any surfaces, BUT this doesn'talways provide an absolute assurance. So, I am wondering what othersdo? IS there a way to control the color of "selected" surfaces whenapplying the pressure load? The default is a "pale red/pink" thatdoesn't always show up so clearly, especially when your part is complexenough that you cannot isolate the surfaces (by that I mean, that thereare some surfaces that no matter what orientation you look at them from,there is another surface with pressure behind it). Seems like if thiswas a darker color it would be easier to spot missed surfaces. I remember there was a way to toggle a group of selected surfaces to awire mesh display during the selection process but I think that was onlyin modeling mode. Or was it? Oh,

Good afternoon, We just recently switched to Creo from WF4.0 and I amrunning into issues with Turning programs. In WF4.0 my tool database woulddrive the parameter for each turning sequence like in my mill sequence. Buttoday using the Turning for the first time since the change to Creo and noneof my tool data will transfer to the parameter table. Have they changed thenames from "=TOOL_ROUGH_FEED_RATE" and other stuff like that in the turningside? Does anybody know what the new relation names are? This is starting tobe more pain than it is worth to move to new builds every time if they keepon changing stuff like this. Thanks. Good morning guys, I ran into this problem last month and finally narrowed itdown to the culprit. I was programming a huge compression mold and used amill volume sequence with a mill window. Usually when I am machining apocket I would just use scan_type=type_spiral and the program would be fine.This time I had a big 2" inserted cutter and on a previous job I wasplugging the middle of the tool when the toolpath would start with a smallcircle in the middle of the mill window. So I started to play around withthe scan type to help with the plugging issue. I found thespiral_maintain_cut_direction to work much better on the play path and thruvericut. So I used it on the program and it was working fine on the machineuntil 1" into the part the CNC code programmed a large radius that violatedthe mill window and basically sent the tool 200" ipm into the material 1"deep. Also mowed off the boss feature inside the cavity the sight was notpretty. Blew up the spindle head. I thought it was a machine

Question:We are on WF5 (or should I be saying CreoPro, LOL) and we have one seat of SolidWorks 2007. I am trying to get WF5 to read a SW part file. I have the config pro "swdocmgr_license_key" with the alphanumeric code I got from the SW "help" -> "show license" -> about<tab>" -> "Computer ID" <number>.When I try to read a SW file Pro gives me the error "Bad license key has been used". Does WF5 require a newer version of SW than 2007? I am running into an issue with this one program that when I post it outusing Gpost, on the screen that tells me if the post is complete it tells me1 warning but no info on what the warning is. I have been using pro manufatruring for years. I don't do much pocket or surface milling and when I do I have usedtrajectory and built the cuts from scratch. I want to learn how to apply volume milling to various things. Does someone have a tutorial that explains how to build one and adjust the milling to build a good tool path? We are having issues creating the following toolpaths with Pro/E. Please note that this is currently possible in MasterCAM. The goal is to rough the following mill surface with a ball nose end mill in a helical type of motion - keeping a constant helical depth change all the way down:Here is the mill surface: When using Cut Line machining with a helical motion the toolpath looks like this. As you can see the helical motion between the spherical and conical part of the mill surface is not a constant plunging depth. This type of tool motion would be fine for finishing the surfaces but we are helical cutting into solid material: I did create geometry that the tool follows to create the following sequence. This is possible but took a while to create a number of features to accomplish this: We would like to ask PTC to enhance the Cut Line Helical milling output to provide a constant helical plunging motion down the entire mill surface. Has anyone else made a request from PTC to change this?

Hey guys..I have a strange problem.Sometimes when creating a mill volume path , it can´t be mill because the mill volume suddently disappears.I´ve had this problem a couple of times , but not every time.I make the seq , choose the volume (which appears in solid) , and everything seems okay. But when i try to play the path , the volume is gone.You can still see it in the modeltree , but not select it on the model..In this case i´ve fix it with a mill vindow , but still real frustrated..Have anyone had similar problems ?
