Hi all.I have tried to use Trajectory mill 3axes with cutcom on. I have defined 3D curve in PRO/tabler=3.5thetha= -10*t * 360 z = -5*t -2It makes spiral curve. I need to generate endmill moe along spiral with cutcom ON (41/42). But proe wrote this error message:Output on profile failed - tool path with CUTCOM command is not planar. Turn off CUTCOM to fix.Is there any way to do it.Thanks Bukaj. This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. For some reason, I do not always get the correct rotation output while creatinga 3-axis trajectory move on a 5-axis machine. I set my home csys in the correctorientation in my operation, and then I select other csys's to position and createthe tool paths throughout my operation. It always seems like the rotary axis isthe one gets output wrong. I believe my post is correct, and is reading and outputtingexactly what it's being told, so I think my .ncl file is not being created properly.I end either having to post out each tool path individually, and then pasting theminto one main program, or create an extra tool paths prior tothe one that's not outputting correctly to try and get it in thearea of the desired location, which seems to work, but it's apain and kind of hit and miss. Try--post--review--try again--untilcorrect position is output.I have tried 4-axis with axis control, but that doesn't seem to positionmy indexer exactly where I want it. Is there a CL command I could add priorto
Instead of picking "new" part, assembly, or drawing, you can pick manufacturing. Can you pick up on this without too much trouble if you have been using the CAD side of pro/e. I may be transfered/working to the machine shop, and there is talk about pro/m(manufacturing). Thank You Just a little nervousThis thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. Our current confirguration is Wildefire 4.0m050 with PDMLink 9.0M30. For testing purposes we installed Wildefire 5.0m30 on a machine and triedto register the server. It did not work. The compatability chart on PTC's website shows that this combination is not supported or invalid. So it appears that if we want to run Wildfire 5, we will have to upgrade to PDMLink 9.1. Does anyone know if there is a workaround or is anyone successfully running this combination using more recent builds? Thanks,LouisThis thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. Good morning, Is there an option to control where Vericut creates all those extrafiles when I use it to nccheck a program? It creates a lot of extra files that I do not need in my working directory. All these extra files is taking up space on the server. Or is there anadvantage to leaving these files there that I do not know of?Thanks.Examples:"the model"_1.dsn"the workpiece"_1.stkcgtpro60.batcgtpro.tlscgtpro.VcProjectcgtpro_operations.vctmpcycle.nclvericut.logSon Nguyen785-667-7763108 W. 2nd StreetAssaria, Kansas 67416

I need an engraving font that a small end mill can accually mill. All of the supplied fonts have square corners or an uncontrollable width. My machinist would like to use a 60 degree single point engraving mill, but sketched lettering can not be exported in ether IGES or ACIS. The online demo shows how to Insert CL Commands into the NCL file for Trajectory Milling using: Tool Motion/Insert/CL Command then typing in the CL Command text. This works great for trajectory milling, but how do you insert CL Commands for other types of machining processes? This is critical for complex machine functions such as multiple process machines MILL/TURN multi-spindles etc. This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. Version 7 is nothing like the newer versions of X2/X3. They are trying to make the interface look like pro/nc if you ask me. We have pondered the switch at times but Pro has so much more to offer in my opinion.
How many errors do you average in your "posted" programs? I'm not talking about two tools for a mold cavity or a face drill and tap program but large programs with multiple tools. I have to customize my cl before its posted as well as subroutines. This wonderful built in varicut is a worthless POS for real world programs. I will be building up my predator editor for backplotting which is as you know an over priced option with varicut. This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. How do you get the post processor to output the block delete character on certain NC Sequences?I have added the CL command OPSKIP (also tried OPSKIP/ON)The post processor is configured to accept the OPSKIP command an use the / character, but my g-code program file is not getting the block delete on the lines I want. This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. I have confirmed that you can indeed create the ncl file (tool paths) and manufacturing models in the recent versions of Pro/E (I have WF5 M020). However it does not post process. But, we own the NC_Sheetmetal package and therefore a copy of Gpost. Can I use this to process the ncl file? This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. In Wildfire4 I use a volume mill with a mill window. When I run the toolpath it shows the path taken with a red line from the center of thetool. When I try to move the part to see where the path has been thelines disappear. How do I keep these lines visible so I can see wherethe path is. <<presentation1.ppt>> Thanks,Byron TaylorCoordinator/ProgrammerDanfoss commercial CompressorsOne Scroll DriveArkadelphia, AR 71923E-mail: byron.taylor@scrolltech.comTel.:870-246-0750This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. I have some questions about this expert machinist that now comes withFoundation in WF4. I have just started playing with it after years ofexperience with standard Pro/NC. I have successfully setup and mademachining features and I can watch the tool move on the screen how I want itto. Problem comes at the output stage. I can use the NC Create menu andcreate the NC code but it does not use the correct post processor and theoption to choose a post is greyed out. Does anyone know how to get aroundthis? I know my post is there and ok I used it on a machine with WF3full pro/nc and it works there. I can edit the post in the editor. Please note our new address below! I am trying to construct a curve based upon about 600 data points (2D) from a CMM. They are an a CSV file now. Any techniques of which anyone is aware? These are from the sphere center, so I'll just have to construct an offset curve to achieve the correct spline. This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. We do a lot of modeling/drawings where there is nearby geometry thatrequires unidirectional tolerancing on a feature, some plus others minustolerances within the same feature. Gaps between parts must be verified/controlled so we model to the actualrequired part size and measure gaps and look for interference on partsin the assembly. When satisfied we then generate drawings and apply allthe tolerances. When production gets the drawings they like to work to the center ofthe unidirectional (symmetrical) tolerance which means that they have tocalculate these values. With the number of features on some of the parts converting back andforth in the models or calculating takes a lot of time and usually getssome errors due to typos. Is there a method within Pro_E that allows quick switching back andforth between the part actual size that requires unidirectionaltolerancing and the size needed for manufacturing using symmetricaltolerancing? Is there a work around that will do the same? Anybody ha
This is a question in reguards to PRO Molding, In the "Automatic Workpiece dialog box" no matter what we do the bottom half is grayed out and you can not enter any data? Hi all I'm using WF5 32bit. Some of proe sequence-steps like "finishing" and "corner finishing" takes long time to calculate toolpath. I want to know, if 64bit proe will calculate "finishing" and "corner finishing" faster. I have 1.5GB of ram, and 2.4Ghz Intel procesor. So I want to buy something better.
