I have created a data table and copied values from a Mathcad quicksheet into it. Now I cannot delete single values, they simply come back. Is there a way to delete them

Yes, but it's extremely non-intuitive. Click on the cell so that the cursor is in the cell (as though you were going to edit the number). Then right click, and you will see an option for "delete cells". You will not see this option if the cell is simply "highlighted" in black.
