Hi,

I try to define magnetic field for simple one phase transformer. I used the cylindrical Poisson equation for finite difference method.

I got good result when magnetic potential is equal zero on boundaries. But when I try to get normal flux density on boundaries I couldn’t get solution.

MathCAD 15 file with is attached.

Appreciate any help

Your sheet loads and displays without errors. I also see no solve block which could fail to return a solution.

I'm just looking over your sheet from an abstract point of view untouched from any technical insight so its quite possible I'm missing the point..

Maybe you could elaborate on what failed.

Yes, there no errors. But if you change number of iterations, you will get another solution. There is some theoretical problem with the boundary condition. I couldn’t get convergence by this method. If it was 2D problem (no cylindrical, without radius) I would get convergence.
