Just seen that Maple have linked into the FLOSS modelling tool Modelica

http://www.designnews.com/author.asp?section_id=1394&doc_id=250202&

Details about modelica are at https://www.modelica.org/ I hadn't seen it before, but it looks interesting and may have capabilities similar to the old mathconnex in terms of diagrams.

Is it something that Mathcad could link with??

You can already turn Modelica models into Mathcad functions via MapleSim. See http://communities.ptc.com/message/175994#175994

Works with Mathcad 15 and below.

I just saw something similar in that Maple and Mathematica (SystemModeler) are integrating this functionality. I also noticed that CREO (https://www.modelica.org/tools under Vertex) has some support. This is interesting and it would keep MathCAD up with the other "M" software.

Samir, the conversion is interesting. Is the conversion posible without MapleSIM? extra $$$, not a package I have available
