Newbie here. Why when I open a .prt file I can only see it in "Creo Viewer" and can do nothing with it?

I am trying to open a .prt file in creo wildfire and when I do it opens in creo viewer and I cannot do anything with it. I need sizes off the math for a quote.

Is this file protected or something?

If you 'double-click.' or select 'Open' then Windows will use the program associated with the file extension. It sounds like that is the problem.

You should be able to open it from within WF3 directly.
