The 1-st pretask.

One old school task :
Residents of four villages located on the corners of a square with sides of 4 km, decided to join the villages by systen of road. Residents collected money for the road with length of 11 km. Is there enough of that money for this project?

The 2-nd PreTask (for Mathcad).

Residents of the eight underground cities located on the vertices of the cube, decided to connect thecities by tunnels. How to choose a scheme of the tunnels, the length of the tunnels was minimal?

I would like to make this stand for cutlery (see the picture). What form must have this cutlery with minimal mass - see PreTasks above (D=3.5 cm L=8cm d=3mm Density=10.5 gm/cm^3 - silver for example):
