too few initial conditions

Hi All,

I am trying to solve a pretty simple second order differetial equation, and all I am having is the message "too few initial conditions". I am using version 14.

Any ideas of what may be causing this problem?

Any inpu will be so much appreciated.

There are a couple of errors in your sheet:

1) You have to use the prime symbol when providing the IC. You can't use the derivative operator. After all you can't derive y(0) with respect to t anyway.

2) You wrote B(y) whery you should have written B(y(t))

3) You used MM which is an undefined variable. I suppose you mean M.

4) You used c. As you didn't define c otherwise Mathcad assumes its the speed of light. Of course you run in a unit mismatch error. I guessed you meant cc.
