what is the difference beween .mcd and .xmcd ?

How will you compare in between .mcd file and .xmcd file format ?

and which file format is preferable to Mathcad Application Server ( MAS).

I have two Mathcad servers:

- MAS 11 (mcd)

- MCS 14 (xmcd)

That means There are two types of server

1. Mathcad Application server (MAS)

2. Mathcad Calculation server ( MCS)

please can you elaborate me its difference. and is there any seperate license required for MAS and MCS or both will come in one.
