You need to publish thru a cadworker because it will give you the best results for annotations on a 3D model. Save As in Creo does NOT give you the same results as thru a Cadworker.
Using two file explorer windows you can drag this file "<path>\Mxxx\Creo 2.0\Common Files\Mxxx\text\prodview\export_pvs.rcp" over "<path>\Mxxx\Creo 2.0\Common Files\Mxxx\apps\prodview\bin\rcpedit.exe" to edit the recipe file used for Save As to Creo View. This lets you export annotations. Remember to setup CreoView to show annotations as well. [cid:image002.png@01CF4D82.1EB50220]
Here is the hierarchy breakdown for creating a Creo View file as each one will give a different result. We did some heavy investigation into each one this subject when I was with Raytheon.
1. Publish thru a Cadworker with Windchill PDMLink
- Best results - Closest to WYSIWYG - Still needs improvement
2. Install the Creo View Adapters with Creo Parametric
- File, Publish to Creo View from Creo Parametric menu
3. File, Save As, .pvz in Creo Parametric - Missing annotations and combined states
