Hi, I have just downloaded the free version of pro engineer schools edition (from the ptc website). Now that it's downloaded, I've tried installing it and when the files are being extracted it comes up with a message saying that there is an error executing the specified programmed and therefore it will not install. Is this a common problem? Any suggestion of how to get around this? Thanks!

Is it possible to run Pro/Concept on windows 7 64bit as have tried to install the download off windchill and keep getting error messages at start up.Just wanted to look at the possiblility of using the software along side Pro/E

I am have trouble changing the way line are printed. I want the hidden lines to be black. Is there a way to not show the axis name when adding the axis to drawing--to be center lines?

Hi,Can anyone help.I have been advised by the university that I am studying at I can download a free copy of Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 5.0 to help assist me with my studies on a BSc Design and Technology with Education and Qualified Teacher Status course that I am studying on. The link that I have been given appears to be broken, does anyone have any idea if this has been moved to another location or if PTC have stopped allowing student teachers to download Pro/ENGINEER wildfire 5 for free? I've also been given a 'product code' by the university too. But I am unable to locate the section of the website I need to download this from.I look forward to hearing back from someone about this soon and thank you in advance for any help or assistance you may be able to provide. Hi, I have just installed proe schools edition, it seemed to install fine yet when I go to run the programme just will not start infact nothing happens, product view works so does help etc but not the programme itself, I am running windows 7 pro 64-bit.Many thanks in advance for your helpRez

I have downloaded the free copy of the student edition of PROE Wildfire 5.0 and started the installation.The process takes me to the Installation Progress Screen and seem to stall at 1% of Copy Files and 0% of Download Progress.I tried to uninstall and reinstall the programm may be too many times. Now PTC company thinks that I have exceed the installation attemps.I don't have a single copy working. Please, someone help?Thanks.

I am a new user of Pro E Wildfire 5.0 ( US FIRST - FTC Robotics ) and trying to learn the software so I can help get my students up and running and designing a robot.Two problems: First is I can't seem to save or rather, when I open a saved file ( assembly ) it says that it failed to regenerate. I am using parts from the 2009 Kit of Parts that I downloaded last year but never used. Not sure if its related or not - but I am not doing something correct on this simple command.2nd problem: If i bring in another part into my assembly and I try to pre-select a surface/feature - I have some sort of graphics glitch. Once I pick the first feature to align/insert etc, I lose the solid model graphics and see a confusing history of wireframes. I need to pan/rotate the assembly in order to see the solid model again and determine where the real wireframe is vs some history version. I am still in solid model format not hidden line or wireframe so I know the wireframe look is some sort of forced error

Hi everyone,I've just installed the WF5 Student Edition so that I can re-acquaint myself with the software (after a few years of Solidworks).I was looking for the Mathcad analysis feature that was present in some previous versions of the software. Actually, the new feature in WF5 that I'm mainly interested in is the ability to import an array of points from a mathcad worksheet.I've noticed the "External Analysis" function and with some fiddling around I might be able to get that working, but I've noticed that the "Mathcad" analysis function is completely absent from the menus now.I'm wondering if that feature has been stripped out of the student version or if it will show up like magic once I install mathcad? I'd like to know before I spend the money on mathcad, because with a little extra work it would be possible to write my own numerical code and use it with the External Analysis and forego the whole purchase. That said, I would much rather shell out some money and use mathcad than

how to convert pro-e v5 student edition file to a normal pro-e wildfire 5 file? If a converter is available then please let me know.

Having trouble down loading the Pro/E wildfire 5.0 all I can get to is the evaluation copy, So please again post the website for down-loading it to my lap top that was in the discussion yesterday

After seeing some of the facilities at FIRST@MEZ, I'm interested in how to get facilities like this going.I would love to see multiple responses from multiple schools/facilities.1. How are teams getting past liability for machine shops?2. How are teams funding for the machines (mills, lathes, saws, etc.)3. How is training managed for the machinery?4. I'm one of the co-founders of FIRST@MIchigan Engineering Zone - a collaborative facility where 12 Detroit Public high school FRC teams built and tested their robots last year. This season we intend to have FIRST@MEZ teams use ProEngineer to design their robots. I'm looking for tips and advice on how to best use PTC and other materials to train our teams in the use of ProEngineer. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.PS- I'd be happy to share info about the MEZ - what it is, how it was established, accomplishments, etc.

Hello,I got the WF 5.0 Student version for free from the PTC website since my school has a partnership with them (or something like that).Anyways, I was trying to download and install the 64 bit WF 5.0 but installation took forever...it stayed at 1% or 2% for the whole time.What is the problem?My laptop should meet the minimum requirements.4 GB RAM500 GB Harddrive1.73GHz CPU speed (but 2.93GHz with turbo boost...whatever that means)740QM Quad Core ProcessorYour help would be greatly appreciated! What's with teenagers today?  Getting up before noon and actually driving across town to be at an art gallery at 9am??  And then these lazy teenagers get together for two hours at a friends house for another afternoon of CAD training??Teams 1323 and 1671 gathered at the gallery of Chris M. Sorensen http://cmsartstudio.com/ to show off their robots and have a little fun.  While an art gallery seems a bit of an unusal place for robots, it makes a little more sense if you take a look at some of Chris's work, as well as his connections to local businesses.The teams had robot races, jumped the bump and impressed Chris as well as local artists with their mechanical, electrical and software skills.Of course, since it was Saturday, the CAD team had to continue goofing off by invading their buddy's home for two hours of CAD training.  They had a printed copy of the WF4 courseware, so they went ahead and used that to go over the detail drawing exercises.  "Show dimension

Today is Day #1 of a 2 day Hands-on-Workshop for FTC and FRC teams. We have 23 attendees: 65% students, 35% mentors from six teams from MA and CT. The Hands-on-Workshop curriculum has been updated for Wildfire 5.0. The first day is all about Pro/ENGINEER fundamentals and we will also have an hour breakout on Mathcad and Windchill ProjectLink. The second day will be focused on applying the fundamentals to robotics, and some more advanced Pro/ENGINEER principles will be introduced. Hi,I've been trying to install schools edition of Pro/E 5 64bit and Pro/E 4 for windows 7 64bit. The installation hangs as shown in the attachment. I've tried to run the setup as administrator, with/without windows recommended settings and antivirus software turned on/off but the outcome is the same.
