Hi

just wondering if there were any other training courses available to us mere mortals (Creo Paramatric)

having done the initial and the one day advanced, just wondering what else was available.

    You will be aware of the network of accredited trainers for PTC Creo. A list of trainers with links to contact them is here: http://www.ptc.com/company/community/schools/creo.htm#england and they post their courses here: http://www.ptc.com/appserver/mkt/etd/admin/class_result.jsp

    The best trainer/course will depend on what you are looking for. Are you using the Precision LMS for Schools tutorials? They have e-learning courses for most of the techniques in PTC Creo including:

    Intro - Fundamentals

    Intro - Productivity tools

    Advanced modelling
    Advanced Assembly

    Freestyle surface design

    Surfacing

    Interactive surface design

    Mechanism design

    Mechanism simulation

    Behavioural modelling

    Flexible modelling

    Detailing (drawing)

    Turning and milling

    Mold design

    Piping and Cabling

    Sheet metal

    Most of the the PLMS courses could be delivered as a course but there are alternatives that might be more appropriate for teachers like yourself including;

    A subject focus:

    Subject area and concepts

    Creo tools and techniques

    Product Design - Shape creation especially organic shapes, Ergonomics, Surface textures, Controls and Visual displays.

    Freestyle, Surfacing, ISDX, Manikin, Render.

    Resistant Materials – Geometric shapes and sections. Joining methods, Simple mechanisms, Manufacture. Exploded models, Assembly sequences

    Component operations for joints, Sheet metal tools applied to metals and plastics, Kinematic motion, Mechanism connections, Saved views, Animation.

    Graphic Products – Point of sale, Packaging,

    Sheet metal applied to card and thin plastics. Animation of folding sequence.

    Systems and control – Mechanical systems, integration of PCBs.

    Mechanism connections, Kinematic motion, Loci of datum points, Mechanism dynamics.

    Science – Materials Structures, Mass, Motion, Inertia, Forces, Friction, Coefficient of Restitution, Heat transfer, Vibration, Resonance.

    Materials, FEA, Analyses, Measurements, Kinematics, Mechanism Dynamics/

    Mathematics – Shape and space, length, area, volume, mass, 2D/3D geometry, Pythagoras, loci, nets, tessellations, symmetry, trajectories.

    Or maybe a course focussed on a curriculum project such as:

    F1 in Schools – Comprehensive STEM curriculum, software tutorial and manufacturing guide.

    GreenpowerSoftware and support. Hands-on workshop and demonstration models.

    Gravity Racing – Software and support. Hands-on workshop and demonstration models.

    Scalextric4Schools – Comprehensive STEM curriculum, software tutorial, presentations, hands on workshops, manufacturing tutorials and project guide.

    And have you considered a course focussed on product development to explore the ways PTC Creo can support exam coursework from initial concept (Creo Sketch) through development using analysis and simulation tools right through to different manufacture methods including 2D profiling, CNC machining and 3D printing.
