Hey everyone, we'd like to get an idea of what you would like to see from your future GHPUG meetings. Who? As many as we can get! There's no problem with starting small, though. What? This is the big question: what kinds of activities, speakers, presentations, etc. do we want to have? When? We are thinking quarterly, and probably during a weekday evening, but we are open to suggestions. Where? Anywhere in the greater Houston area, but try to keep it as central as possible, and probably change locations often. Why? To share our passion for our work and the tools we use, and to discover new and better methods for both. How? We need everyone's help to develop a plan that works for as many as possible. Please chime in below and let us know what you think. Design well, Geoff

The final portion will focus on creating toolbars. Keeping toolbars user-friendly. Categorizing tasks by use of various toolbars. At the end of this session, participants will be able to: Effectively create macros to streamline the processes of common tasks. Set preference file to ensure consistency. And finally

Those Devious Authors! Arbortext provides tools developers, IT staff, and support personnel a lot of resources to simplify the Authoring interface for users. Want to turn off the ability to tweak page-breaks so you don't need to spend hours debugging a stylesheet error that doesn't exist? Our shop coaches give their best hints on how to remove the 'troublesome' features in Arbortext Editor to simplify your job and your author's job as well! In this 30 minute, recorded web session, Paul Nagai shows how you can: Create XUI dialogs to allow editing metadata stored as attributes/elements. Take advantage of "calculated attribute values" to aggregate metadata putting complex "calculations" into ACL and simplifying the stylesheet. Combine these two techniques to produce multiple Tables of Contents or, more accurately, "Lists of Impact." This session is accessible to Advanced Arbortext users. Nikon Precision Inc (NPI), located in the United States, serves as the sales and service support arm for the Nikon semiconductor manufacturing tools. All design and manufacturing occurs in Japan; therefore, all technical information originates in Japanese. Since NPI is the center for all English language documentation, there are not only technical hurdles but time constraints in getting technical information to our field service employees as well as our external customers. And with photolithographic technologies advancing rapidly, NPI's Documentation department was struggling. In 2008, NPI's Documentation department moved from monolithic, book-length technical materials (and ways of thinking) to using DITA and structured information for reuse. We transitioned from using unstructured FrameMaker to using Arbortext Editor/Styler/Architect and will be managing content with PTC's Windchill PDMLink. Our technical information is delivered in two major forms: technical bulletins (
