How did it get to be September!!! Fall routines have started. Campfires and cookouts have begun. Enjoy time with the ones you love. Eat an extra s'more. Which tool is best for mathematicians? The multi-pliers!
Going to get an early start to the Labor Day weekend. Everyone keep safe and enjoy time with the ones you love!! Outdoor movie night with a bon fire tomorrow night!! I asked my dog what two minus two is…. It said nothing. Which, honestly, is the correct answer and kind of impressive.
Teacher are back in school around here. Students soon to follow. The heat in the north has finally broke and we received some much needed rain after a long drought. I went almost 2 months without mowing my grass this summer. Looking forward to fall!! Be blessed and be a blessing to others. DO ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS LISTEN TO AC/DC OR SOMETHING MORE CURRENT?
Hi everyone!I’ve recently been preparing for the Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) exam, and I found some really useful resources along the way. Azure is such a vast platform, and understanding its core services can be a bit overwhelming at first. For those of you who have already taken the exam or are preparing for it, what study strategies or materials have been most helpful to you?For me, practice tests have been super valuable, especially in understanding the types of questions that come up. If anyone else is looking for practice tests, I found a really helpful site here: AZ-900 Practice Tests. It has a variety of questions that simulate the real exam.I’d love to hear your tips and experiences with preparing for this exam!
WOW! It's August. The summer is flying by. Take time to enjoy moments and memories with the ones you love. Progression of engineering education: A good planner needs to know at least a little bit about a great variety of topics. Engineers often succeed by specializing. So planners like to say that over time, planners learn less and less about more and more until eventually they know nothing about everything. While engineers learn more and more about less and less until they eventually know everything about nothing.
Toasty next couple of days in Michigan!!! Hope you are enjoying the summer before the fall routines kick in... What do you call careful oxygen? Air on the side of caution. Bonus points for the () reference in the title...
Last Friday in July. Wow, time flies. Better fit in some more summer before summer slips into fall... What happens if the average number of bullies at a school goes up? The mean increases!
So how is your summer going? Fast? It's hard to believe that we are over halfway through summer. What fun things have you done so far? Any big plans for the rest of the year. I just learned that sulphuric acid should never be left in a metal beaker. It’s an oxidant waiting to happen.
Having several short weeks in a row.... I could get used to this real quick. Heading up north to do some freighter chasing this weekend. Also to enjoy the Army Corps of Engineers open house at the Soo Locks. ( https://boatnerd.com/boatnerd-news-june-26-2025/ ) Found this a while back in my dad's machinist hand book. He started out tanning leather at the local tannery and retired a VP of Engineering at an automotive supplier. Graduated from night school with a BA in Business when he was almost 50. Unfortunately passed away 1.5 years after retirement. Being a tail-ender, I didn't get to know him very well since I was 24 when he died. Enjoy some thoughts.
Any big plans this weekend? Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there. Be Blessed. Weight (force) removed when grace has been given to you = 1 john-newton

Have a terrific weekend this last weekend in May. Do something special for the ones you love. I made a new password: “Beef Stew”. The IT department made me change it, because it wasn’t Stroganoff.
After almost 15 years at my current job, I will be leaving it at the end of May. However, the community does not get rid of me that easily as my new job as a Windchill/Creo System Application Specialist at another company begins on June 2. The best part is I do not have to move as my new job is also in Oak Ridge. If you know of anyone who wants to be a Windchill/Creo Application Specialist in Oak Ridge, my current employer is looking to hire someone. They are also looking for a configuration management manager and mechanical engineers, if that applies to you, too. Send me a PM for contact information or Careers - Centrus Energy Corp
Thanks for all that have given all in the service of their country. Be blessed this Memorial Day weekend in the States... If you are in the Holland area, join us for breakfast at the beach (near the channel in the state park) for the annual Memorial Day breakfast. I saw a snake that was 3.14159 meters long… … I think it is a πthon.
Happy 40th Birthday, PTC! This Community Manager had some wonderful connect time with PTC colleagues at our Seaport Boston Headquarters last Thursday! Kevin Wrenn, PTC EVP Chief Product Officer, opened the celebration with a brief nod to the beginnings of PTC and the acknowledgement that we are in our "BEST DECADE...ever yet!" The decade started out great for me! I won some PTC branded sneakers! I started my PTC career 8 years ago in a "marketing overflow" cubicle in the Creo R+D Team wing in the old Needham building. So, I thought fitting that I should eat the celebratory refreshments provided with my Creo friends. Most over 20 years PTC experience! Games and PTC Trivia were on the agenda, and I enjoyed some ping pong! Remember Nick from Creo Challenges? He is still here tucked in
Quite the storm passing through Michigan last night. Spent some quality time with the family in the basement. Fantastic light show!!! Amazing producer... Our outdoor team building activity at the lake got cancelled…. IT Security flagged it as a phishing attempt.
Tonight we are doing junk food night at Holland's annual Tulip Time Festival. Spend time making memories with the ones you love... Beginning of spring break for all the local schools. Mass exodus to the south for a lot of families wanting to enjoy time away. Do you have any near term travel plans? Safe travels and God speed. The United States thought about switching over to the metric system, but it was going to cause mass confusion.
Hi PTC Community, We had an amazing week with François Lamy (@flamy) and Jeremy Trask (@JeremyTrask) at our PTC Bucharest office, exploring the impact of AI on our work and daily tasks. From demos to discussions, we learned how AI can save time, reduce errors, and enhance performance. We also partnered with Politehnica University of Bucharest for our second symposium, "The Power of AI," sharing knowledge and inspiring the next generation of engineers. Special thanks go out to Alexandru Cazacu (@Alex_Cazacu) and Bogdan Baranaga (@BogdanAdrianBar) for facilitating the demos for our products.
