Hiya,I'm using an element's "target" attribute value to store a url encodedlink. When I process the link, Styler (or someone somewhere) is resolvingthat link so, for example, this encoding: %3dis resolved as: ?I need it to remain %3d.How/Where to I make it stop?Gentext is:<_gte:AttributeContent attr="target" occur="1" scope="linkelementname"/>-- Paul Nagai
Has anyone ever came accross this issue with IsoDraw Export?Using IsoDraw I "placed" the tif, created leader lines/ callouts, and exported "as usual" to WebCGM 2.0...It seemed to export o.k. until I tried to insert into Arbortext Editor, and I noticed that only the leader lines/ callouts were showing. I opened the CGM file-same thing "only callouts/lines" ....So I checked the original "IsoDraw" file and it still included graphic...So the problem must be at Export-but everything looks o.k.....Did I accidently change an advanced setting somewhere, or has there maybe been an update that is causing a conflict between software applications at export Versions:Arbortext Editor 5.3Arbortext IsoDraw 7.1 ~~~~~Exporting to WebCGM2.0~~~~~~
Hello there,I uploaded the burst configuration files to ACM as adviced, then it started to load the burst setting.Since then, whenever I try to upload ditamaps and dita files which were made on the local, the upload fails and a warning comes up saying "the file name is too long".It seems that the file name is changed automatically to a name containing the pass, and that makes the file name too long.Could anyone give me any help with this?Kind regards,Tomomi

Hi,Styler .style sheet. Arbortext 6.0 m010.I know that you can control the name of a chunk by setting Breaks (tab) >HTML Chunking button > Persistent file name (drop-down) > from attribute(drop-down).Has anyone been able to set the id value? For example, I get the following output (via View Source in the .chm / HTMLHelp file):my titleAnd "#styler-id1.4.4.1" is the named target of the TOC entry and it is alsopossible to open the .chm to the page and location (what I am ultimatelywanting to do) by executing something like:ss hh "c:\path\filename.chm::/persistentchunkname.htm#styler-id1.4.4.1"&Except I want to be able to control the id value so it would be thisinstead:ss hh "c:\path\filename.chm::/persistentchunkname.htm#persistentidvalue"&It's easy right? You know JUST how to do that. Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?....I've played a little bit with HTML Help source edits, but all that isaccessible is:<xsl:call-template name="object.id">And removing that and replacing wit
Is it possible to use a different stylesheet when generating a PDF for PDMlink vs. generating the PDF from other sources? How would you recommend to accomplish this? Using 5.4 and PE.Thanks in advance.
We are trying to create a parts catalaog with Arbotext. Picture on the LH side table on the RH side. We can create the basic layout of how we would like it to look. Some questionswe have for others that arecurrentlydoing this,is you style sheet customized to breaka table and contiue it on the next page? Can it alsocopy theimage and place it on the nextpage also?Is your index all numbers? Does it format correctly? We have a mixture of 4 to 6 digits. It seems to start at the first digit being 100000, the goes goes until the second digit comes into play, then organizes all the numbers regardless of actual value that start with 120000.How do you formatthe index to look better when you have lots of pages under one entry?ThanksBryon
Fellow Forum Members,Working with Arbortext S1000D Aerospace & Defensce CSDB suite of applications. Can anyone out there please confirm for me whether it is possible or not to reuse data in a Tools Technical Information Repository (TIR) or a Controls & Indicators TIR across multiple projects. If the answer is YES, how is it done? Currently, I have 12 different projects setup in the CSDB and I would like have a single TIR support all twelve projects with data I can reuse. If I make a change to the TIR my goal is to make all 12 projects reflect the change to the TIR data. I have looked at Aliasing but from what I see this approach makes an exact copy of a Data Module and doesn't go beyond that. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
An eic has to start on a recto, and if the previous page is blank, the footer has to look like this (assuming we're on page 4):(Page 3 blank/Page 4)Has anyone had to do this?
Hi all,I've been trying to test for the page number > 1, but this doesn't work:<specval attname="foliostr[BO]" attloc="#FOSI" attval="#GT#\1"/">while this works:<specval attname="entryct" attloc="#FOSI" attval="#EQ#\10"/">but this doesn't, if I initialize addnewline.txt=10 in the rsrcdesc:<specval attname="entryct" attloc="#FOSI" attval="#EQ#addnewline.txt"/">Is there a way to compare numbers saved to variables? Or, alternately, to test for a column break?
Oops, my message should have read, 'conrule="\Page \,page-counter-value,\blank/\" instead of conrule="\Page \,variable.txt,\blank/\"
As much as I want the content of my book to be finalized, it seemed to me that an example of numerical sorting should be included. It is attached. Please let me know any comments. Thanks!Suzanne Napoleonwww.FOSIexpert.com"WYSIWYG is last-century technology!"
I have what may be an easy question here about document manipulation using the DOM and AOM and executing Arbortext commands. To briefly describe my goal: I'm trying to add a namespace declaration to all XML files that are referenced in a .dita file (ditamap file) via a custom Arbortext menu tool (javascript). This ditamap contains XML elements that describe the URI locations of XML files.Since the ditamap file is what is opened in Arbortext, I'm trying to find a way to set the DOM/AOM to point to the URI location of the individual XML files referenced in the ditamap. This way I can run a simple Arbortext command on them to add the namespace to each XML file.Javascript code sample below:AddNamespace function() { var actDoc = Application.activeDocument; // set the DOM to the active document open in Arbortext var uri = actDoc.getElementsByAttribute("XMLfileURI", "", 0); // grab XML file URI's and store in array var i; for (i = 0; i < uri.length; i++) { var curDoc = Application.openDocu
I think the answer to this one will be "no", but just in case...There seem to be things you cannot do to lines within groups or between groups. One of the annoying ones is the fact you can't seem to be able to split lines if they are grouped together (or indeed split an ugrouped line against a line that's in a group).I don't see any logic in having this restriction so I'm wondering if I've missed something obvious? A function override key perhaps?
Hi!Is there a way in Arbortext with Styler, when making a custom table, to make more than one header row for that table? In other words, the header would be two rows. There doesn't seem to be a way to do this via the Styler interface i.e. Custom Table tab. Perhaps there's a way involving editing the APP source ... It would also be convenient to be able to merge cells in the header row. There doesn't seem to be a way to do this in the Custom Table tab either.Someone might suggest, use a standard table! Unfortunately this isn't possible in this particular case. (I intend not to modify the DTD I am using.)I appreciate your consideration.
Hi all,I built a 2-column table like so:<usetext<br/>source='!<figtable frame="all" colsep="1" rowsep="0"><tgroup cols="2"><colspec colname="col1" colwidth="8.5pi"></colspec><colspec colname="col2" colwidth="5pi"></colspec><thead><row rowsep="1"><entry align="center">PART<brk></brk>NUMBER</entry><entry align="center">FIGURE<brk></brk>&<brk></brk>INDEX NO.</entry></row></thead><tbody>!,rows.app,!</tbody></tgroup></figtable>!' placemnt="after"></usetext>There's too much space between each row, and I don't know where it's coming from. Is there any way to get rid of this extra space? I tried playing with leading on entry, row, the partno and figindex eics and the usetext but no luck.My second question, is there any way to test for a column break? This table is on a 3 column page and I have to put an extra blank line after ever
So I can't remember if I have the standard Arbortext publishing engine do I also have Advance Print Publisher or is there a separate charge for the Advance Print Publisher? Thanks in advance.
I am trying to temporarily change a read only document to insert a PI. I set rochange to on and then go to change the document, but get an Arbortext message saying that I cannot modify the document because it is read only. Not sure what I am doing wrong. This used to work in version 4.3, but no longer works in 5.3. Anyone have any clues. Thanks.
Good day! I have an interesting problem. At least, interesting to me. I have a custom table, and it has a few cells that are generated by Xpath strings. What I would like to do is generate a custom table cell from an Xpath string that incorporates the content of two tags. No problem. But I would like to put a line return between those two instances. I'm not sure if there's a way to do this. Here's an example of what I'm trying to do.concat(string(tagx[1]/tagy/tagz), '{this is where the line return should be'}, string(tagx[2]/tagy/tagz))I have control of the stylesheet, made via Arbortext with Styler, but by contract I cannot alter the DTD.I have attempted to put various iterations of line returns, but they don't get called as line returns for the PDF. They just appear as the text that would constitute a line return in XML. In other words, '&#13;' literally appears in the PDF as &#13; and not as a line return. Xpath is not my strong suit, so I may be going about this all wrong.I a
Hello experts!!Well, I have bee working in the creation of a custom XUI window, I'm inserting a group of radiobuttons, however, I'm having a problem when I try to change the background colors 😞 I don't want the background in gray, but when I change the background color for the label's buttons, I'm still having the background of the small circle button in gray. Also I would like to know if anybody knows where I can Find more information in order to make my XUI implementation. As always all your help and suggestion are more than welcome!Best Regards.Paulette Zorrilla
Hi All!I'm a newbie here and fairly new to the dark underbelly of structured authoring. I've been using Editor/PE/CPA for almost 5 years and have been working with the e-learning modules for several months. All of which leads to:I've been working on a custom doctype for a supplement publication management wants. Everything is great so far except for one thing. Graphics in a document display properly on output using Styler's print preview and compose buttons, but not when using Editor's print preview and compose features. Our PE installation lives on a server with our CPA installation. All graphics live in a folder at the same directory level as their associated document file. We're running Editor/PE 5.4 M030.Thanks for any help!!
When inserting graphic file into an XML document, Arbortext Editor inserts the absolute filesystem path. Instead, it should import graphic file into Windchill storage and insert a link to that file. How do we achieve this behavior?
