MBD combo state start part recommendations

Does anyone have any recommendations for default combo states? Below are PTC's:

I *think* there are some recommendations in this book as well and we are considering getting it. If anyone has read it I would appreciate feedback.

Our company's MBD Schema Document and Combination View State naming convention is based out ASME 14.41.
