Maintain fixed find number index on BOMs for multiple instances of a family table

I have 21 instances in a family table.  The generic contains all the parts for all instances.  I'm creating a  drawing parts list (BOM) for each instance.  I would like the instances with common items to have the same find number fixed in the parts list.  I'm aware you can fix index on the part list (BOM), but I would prefer not to do that on 21 instances.  Is it possible to fix the find index numbers on the generic and have that propagate to the instances as parts list are created for each instance?

Directly that is not an option, each assembly BOM will be created on the fly so depending on how you structure/sort each drawing BOM, the FT find number will change.

The alternative is to use a parameter in your family table and assign a pseudo find number to each instance, then in your drawing  BOM, use that parameter for your index. You will need a relation to set the find number to a generated number if the part itself does not have the pseudo find number.

... but if you use that part in multiple assemblies, the parameter number will have been fixed in the 1st assembly. Not sure if that is what you are looking for.
