Renamed an instance accelerator file for family table instance. Will Creo recognize it or ignore it?

Version: Creo 10

 

Use Case: Currently the Xpr file is generated with the name instancename.xpr. I want it in the following format : Fmailyname-instancename.xpr.


Description:

What happens if I rename an instance accelerator file (.xpr) for a part family table instance? Will Creo recognize the renamed file or will it ignore it. I am just trying to figure out whether I can rename the .xpr file.
Currently it is generated with <instancename>.xpr. I want it in the following format :

<Familyname>-<instancename>.xpr.

If you rename an accelerator file it just becomes another file. Creo won't "see" it with respect to your models. The name Creo saves it as is automatically generated based on the model name. One of the many reasons Creo will not let you have two objects in memory that have the same name. You can't change the built-in file name requirements.

the best you can do is create a use case.
you will see that renaming (on disk) will impact negatively Creo.
historically the naming convention is as you described it.
