Bevel (differential pinion and crown) Gear Design – Non‑Coplanar Offset for Enhanced Contact

Hi all,

I'm working in Creo Parametric Mechanism to model a pinion and crown gear assembly with axial/radial offset between their axes.

This is not a standard intersecting-bevel gear setup — the pinion and crown gear must mesh with a deliberate offset between their axes.

However, when I attempt to apply the built-in Bevel Gear Connection, Creo throws: "The references for bevel gear connection are not coplanar”.

How can I simulate bevel gear kinematics when the pinion and crown gears are offset (i.e., non-coplanar axes)?
