academic simulator cannot connect ThingWorx

I too am have not been successful connecting to the thingworx simulation.  I have followed the instructions perfectly and when trying to start the simulation it tells me to check my port.  Have tried port 80 and 443 with secure box checked.  Same issue.  Frustrating and time consuming.
