Run Time permissions to select and view Things

Hi, I've created a mashup with a Tree listing Things the user can select and view properties from. It's in the form

Location 1

     VM1

     VM2

Location 2

     VM3

     VM4

When I load the mashup as an Admin, I can see everything, and it works fine. However, when I load it as User 1, I get a red error bar in the Tree widget and none of the associated information can load to other widgets. User 1 is a member of Location1Organization, which has visibility on the Location and VMs. User 1 is also a member of Location1 group which has RunTime permissions for everything except PropertyWrite. Is there something else I'm missing in the permissions or somewhere else I need to control access?

Do your users have Service Execute permissions for the service that builds the data that the tree widget uses?

The best clues for tracking down the cause of this kind of issue are in the logs. The application log is a good starting place.
