Where do I add my properties?

I have data being sent to ThingWorx, but I don't know how to make it available to me in the Mashup. Do I have to bind it to a property?

If you haven't already, I encourage you to complete the Introduction to ThingWorx course available through PTC eLearning. This course will answer many of your "how" questions.
