Adding Features to 'Released' family table in Windchill

Does anyone know if it's possible to modify and/or add a feature to a family table which has some of it's instances in a 'Released' form in Windchill? Currently, the only way to modify a 'released' file is to revise it. the problem is that the current instances are not changing but the system is asking us to 'verify' all instances and then it fails.

From access control point of you, you can make any state (including Released) editable. From FT point of view, i guess proe/windchill trying to verify all instances makes sense. It doesnt matter whether an instance is changing or not, system verifies all instances and to verify it looks for modify permission.

May be you can have a admin user who have modify permission in Released state give a try...then you can think of a workaround process.
