Adding Roles to the system

Hey Guru's,
I am once again trying to add roles to our Windchill 10.0 M030 system. I can add them using the enumCustomize, as well as in the ORGANIZATION, but neither make them available to using in my Promotion Request roles, what's the trick here?

When I run \codebase ant –f MakeJar.xml in Windchill Shell. I get an error Buildfile: build.xml deos not exist, any ideas?

You need to rebuild your jars, and clear your local system’s browser cache
so updated jar files get downloaded. The script is called MakeJar. When
you use enumCustomize, you are actually modifying java code technically.
Some java code for performance reasons gets downloaded for applet/browser
support.



Skipping either step will continue to prevent you from seeing the roles in
the workflow participants list.

yeah after you do ANY enumcustomize work run this:

from <windchill_root>/codebase

ant -f MakeJar.xml

After that clear out your tomcat cache and restart for good measure.

I think the solution is simple. Please type manually the ant command rather
copy and paste, because the charater set in Microsoft Office is different
than Java.

You may notice the hyphen before f is long which is not the case in a
command prompt. Type manually "ant -f MakeJar.xml" (Notice the size of
hyphen I typed)

If you are still having some issues then it's really complicated

I don't have 10.0 in front of me, but in Windchill 9.1 I had to add my custom roles to the 'Fixed Roles for Promote' in Preference Manager. Otherwise, the custom roles would not show up in a promotion team. You might look at Preferences.

Make sure you check the box that says "Selectable"
