Alias "Hyperlink" or "Object Reference" Attribute Functionality

Hi Everyone,
I am trying to create an Alias attribute that can be clicked to navigate from a WTPart to the View Specific Data object (MPMLink object). I believe I have the correct syntax for the mapping but there are a few problems:
1. If I create the attribute as a Hyperlink then:
a. The attribute label is displayed but there is no "text" to click. There is only clickable whitespace.
b. When the link is clicked the target is the Windchill homepage. I have verified that the View Specific Data object exists for this WTPart.
2. If I create the attribute as an Object Reference then:
a. The label is rendered but there is no hyperlink to click.
wt.part.WTPart~erpMaterial^wt.esi.ERPMaterial~erpMaterial@wt.esi.ERPPartSpecificPlantDataLink~plantData^wt.esi.ERPPartSpecificPlantData

Does anyone have any thoughts as to what the problem is?
