Bill of Material problem

Hi,


We want a BoM on the drawing with balloons (actually we only need the baloons, not nessesarily the BoM table) and we also want to pass the assembly structures with the BoM index number to another system through XML files.


How to accomplish that the index number passed to the other system is the same index as the balloon on the drawing?


If we manually set a number as a parameter in the model it will be a problem when that part is used in another assembly. We probably want a separate number in the second assembly.

Hello Hans,


we solved the problem byassigning component parameters within the assembly : open the assembly go to Tools>Parametersand select "component". Then pick a component in the the model tree and define a new parameter for example Pos_No with value 1. Do this for all components. In order to show the correct values on your drawing you have to create your own ballon symbol. It should contain the text \asm.mbr.cparam:Pos_NO\ .
