Custom Link types between part and document

We would like to be able to link and unlink Reference Documents with Windchill Parts, without having to iterate part and document. It is possible to create a "master to master" custom link type between WTPart and Ref Doc? If so, will this give the desired result.

Yes I have seen this documentation before. Creating the customized link in the type and attribute manager is easy. Presenting that link in the UI seems to be quite the customization.
