Question

Integration between Windchill and Codebeamer breaks when Windchill is switched to SSO

Envrionment: Windchill 13.0.2.13

Description:

  • The Windchill and Codebeamer integration works successfully when non-SSO/Basic authentication is used.
  • The customer changed Windchill authentication from Basic to SSO, and the integration stopped working. Codebeamer is still using Basic authentication.
  • Advised the customer to use the same authentication mechanism across both platforms, but the customer is requesting official documentation for this.
  • From the logs, found that the Windchill API request used in the workflow is still being routed through Basic authentication.
  • In the Codebeamer application configuration, the OSLC servers are correctly configured to use SSO authentication.
  • Codebeamer is configured to connect to the Windchill OSLC server using OAuth2/SSO. However, when SSO is enabled in Windchill, the integration fails, and the logs show attempts to use basic authentication instead.

Could you please advise why the request is still using basic authentication and what configuration should be checked next from Windchill end?

Thanks,
Aditya
