New Document Type

I have created a new document type and applied an object initialization rule to it. However, when I go to add a document to PDMLink using that type, it doesn't use the rule that has been specified.

I am trying to get a document that will ask me for the number instead of the number being auto-generated.

Can someone provide some guidance in the steps needed to accomplish this.

A few things may be happening.

1. The OIR needs to correctly specify the object type. See attached for a sample for a custom document type that we have below Reference Document called Patent and note the syntax.

2. The OIR object type in the UI needs to match the type in the file. To be sure, use the Download Composite on the OIR Admin UI.

3. The OIR may not be enabled.

By the way, the attached uses PatentDocrule.xml auto Numbering. I've also attached another rule.xml (for WTDocument) that uses manual numbering.

I'd disable the parent OIR and retest.
