Question
No Subsume Errors in Windchill 10?
We're running test upgrades from 9.1 to 10.2. I was surprised to find that I didn't get a subsume error when doing some testing. I will describe my process.
How to reproduce:
Create WTPart BOM structure with ComponentX on the BOM (quantity 5)
Create CAD assembly structure with ComponentX in the ASM file once (quantity 1)
Associate the CAD assembly to the WTPart as Owner. (And of course ComponentX must be associated to its WTPart as Owner.)
Windchill 9.1:
Subsume error upon check-in telling you that you have 5 of ComponentX in the WTPart BOM, but only 1 of ComponentX in the modeled assembly.
Windchill 10.2 (Windchill 10 in general, I guess):
Successful check-in. Now ComponentX is on the WTPart BOM once as qty 5, and another time as qty 1.
I thought at least there might be some type of preference to turn on/off subsume errors. But according to the PTC ticket I created today, and the document and SPR, this will not be fixed. CS108639<.">https://support.ptc.com/appserver/cs/view/solution.jsp?n=CS108639>.
Have you experienced this too? Or am I just getting bluffed by the PTC support technician?
