Preference Settings

Would anyone have away to exportpreference settings. I have two system and they do not act same way and I would like to compare the preferences. Spreadsheet, XML, text file...?

I created a query builder report on this (can output to CSV, open in Excel) and provided to this group and also to PTC 27 times.

Please ask PTC and see if they provide. Should definitely be there OTB.

Exporting of preferences is now a utility in 10.1 M040. I
think it is documented in the Special Administration Guide.


Found it is a command line function. Exports to XML

Here is a report that we use. Like Mike, we do fair bit of post processing on this in Excel.
I use a live link, add several columns of post processed data, then visualize using pivot tables. Hence the attached report is never intended to be read in pure HTML format.

The report includes preference definitions, categories and instances. You should be able to tweak it to your needs easily enough.
