Hello Community

Does somebody has experience to assign a role to an activity and not a teammember?

We would like to create template projects where we can define the roles on the team page and then several activity were assigned.

Anybody can help or has similiar topics?

Thanks for your response.

Regards,

Marc

No experience with a solution, but definitely on board with the need. If you create a Product Idea I'll definitely vote it up.

Here, you may use shared team as shown below from Project.

Role based assignments are coming in Windchill 10.2 M030. When assigning resources to a Plan event (Activity or Milestone) you'll be able to chose from Windchill Group or Windchill Team Role. Activities will still only have one owner. This change is regarding resource assignment.

Hello Scott

Thank you for your answer,

that helps us to understand that PTC is going to the right direction.

Unfortunately we are on Windchill 10.1 M040... since 2 months.

Is there a overview what capabilities will come up or are different in the 10.2 release?

We are thinking also about "ressource management" and "baseline" capabilities (equal to MS Project).

Today we had again a conversation with Dave Wilson from PTC Toronto about ProjectLink.

Regards,

Marc

Marc, please work with Dave and he should be able to connect you with the Solution Manager for Windchill Project Management to get all the details.
