All,

Does anyone out know how tomake that the parameter ptc_wm_created_by gets read into our drawing format is in CAPS? This is read in from Windchillwhich gets populated from our LDAPthat has a mixture of the following examples:

John Smith

JANE DOE

We want it to read JOHN SMITH in our drawing title block.

I was able to change the way ptc_wm_created_on reads in our title block, 20140728

Thanks,
Lance

Not an answer, but be warned, the value of this parameter changes starting with 10.2. It will display either the username and organization or the full email address. Currently there is no way to change this. For more info, see

Thanks for the heads-up! Bummer - this really throws a wrench into how our formats currently work.

Welcome to new releases of PTC products... like the Family tables SNAFU. When family tables switched from multiple related files to only one file creating revision issues in WC comes to mind.

It is like the scene in Dodgeball... "If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball!"

Saw this on the PTC Community from a product manager:

"Here is a short summary as to how this issue arose and why it has taken so long to address:

There was a requirement to have unique identifiers for users implemented through the preference User unique identifier display format. During 10.0, an inconsistency was identified in user names where in some cases it showed the unique identifier, and in some cases it showed the display name. An spr was filed and fixed to use the unique identifier. This changed the format of PTC_WGM_CREATED_BY and PTC_WGM_MODIFIED_BY which resulted in more sprs from customers that did not want these values changing on drawings, etc.

There were several discussions about how to address the issues. The end result is that we need to introduce another option that allows users to decide if the unique identifier should be used for these attributes. If they are not to be used, the old format is retained.

That preference is going into 10.1 M050 and 10.2 M030. "

Steve,

Thank you for the great information. Let's just hope that it really is
implemented 10.1 M050 and 10.2 M030.

We are all trying to update our start parts and formats to use the new
Windchill parameters that simplifies user input and cuts input errors. Tom
pointed out the following regression of PTC_WM_CREATED_BY in Windchill
parameters.

Not an answer, but be warned, the value of this parameter changes starting
with 10.2. It will display either the username and organization or the
full email address. Currently there is no way to change this. For more
